This charming restaurant not only boasts a great menu but also offers an impressive wine list, making it a perfect pit stop for hungry travelers.
Many diners rave about the exquisite flavors found in dishes like the creamy carbonara with extra chicken, savory pizzas, and tantalizing risottos. One customer, Sonja Ellis-Rudd, recounted her delightful evening spent indulging in a variety of dishes, all while enjoying a bottle of refreshing rosé. Best of all, her party of four managed to keep their total under £80, proving that Fratellos offers quality without breaking the bank.
However, it’s worth noting that some guests have commented on smaller portion sizes for the price. Carl Bontoft emphasized that for those with big appetites, the servings may leave you wanting more. This is an important consideration if you're particularly hungry after a long journey.
User Adam Booth shared his experience with the service, indicating a slight delay in attention despite the food being satisfactory. He described the atmosphere as calm, suggesting that Fratellos has the potential to be a relaxing dining choice, if not for the occasional service hiccup. A few diners appeared to experience longer waiting times, which could indicate a restaurant in high demand, a compliment to its culinary offerings, though a nod to the need for improved staff management in busy periods.
Overall, Fratellos represents a blend of beloved dishes that cater to families and travelers alike. The charming ambiance and hearty flavors invite you to unwind and indulge. As you plan your next meal-stop on the A1, consider giving Fratellos a visit. Whether it’s sharing a bottle of wine with friends or savoring a comforting memory of your favorite pasta dish, this cozy eatery is sure to leave a lasting impression.
“ Had long enough waiting to be served that I decided to write the review early. Food was fine, everybody was happy and a simple mistake was corrected quickly. It's a nice and calm place to eat your dinner. It did feel like the staff were a little rushed or overwhelmed by the number of tables. They were most apologetic but it wears a bit thin on the fifth or sixth time. Sitting at a table with tired children waiting for somebody to notice you have no drinks, no dessert menus and the table was cleared 15 minutes ago. Several other tables just got up to leave (after arriving well after us) and the staff had to chase them to confirm room numbers for payment... apologising all the way. ”
“ Great menu, good wine list and very tasty food. Enter your car reg into a machine at Holiday Inn reception and you don’t have to pay for parking. All 4 of us enjoyed our meal, carbonara with extra chicken, pizza, risotto and potato skins, with a bottle of rose. Under £80 the lot. Would recommend this as a good meal stop on the A1. ”
“ Good food. But small portion sizes for the price being charged. Hungry folk need more food than that. ”
